Yesterday evening my friend Hank the Drummer (Henrik) and his band Juno Bell played at Apparatet on Nørrebro.
It was a nice and cosy concert at the new concert area at Apparatet and being a local it was a short trip home afterwards – nice way to spend a cold winter evening in CPH.
Thanx Hank for the invitation to another great session with Juno Bell!
My friend Henrik “Drummer” and his band Juno Bell has just launched their new EP “Fighting Giants” and it’s on the Internet ready to get downloaded for free – that’s really a Christmas present you can relate to!
I have only listened to “Fighting Giants” a couple of time, but I like it – and it will be on “heavy rotation” on my iPhone today.
Yesterday I finally had the possibility to see my friend Henrik’s (Hank) band Juno Bell – Hank has been inviting me to a couple of concerts over the last months, but it just didnt fit my calender… but NOW it was time when they played at Studenterhuset and what a great time – Juno Bell really rocked and me and my friends all agreed that the new song they played (didnt catch the title) will do really good! Thanx guys!
Sunday was certainly Bruce Springsteen evening and with a 3 hours concert it wouldnt be too much to say that he owned the evening – certainly he ruled it! big time!
But before the concert it was time to get into the stadium ‘Parken’ in Copenhagen, a small talk, loosing our friends Christian and Steffan (and the beers they were getting for us – bad luck!) and for Benjamins girlfriend Mercedes to tell her stand-in what kind of food her horse would like for dinner… not kiddin…
Benjamin and my brother Peter chatting
And Mercedes mobiles the dinner plan for her horse….
And then it was time for Bruce Springsteen to rock us. It was in fact an incredible concert full of energy – even though I’m not the biggest Springsteen fan I liked it a lot. Of course I was most interested in the elder stuff, but the 4 numbers from the new record and the country crap for the end couldnt change my impression that this was a great concert and I would do it again and again…. And with the band in a ‘greatest hit’-mode (Bruce collected big signs/whishes from the crowd and they played some ‘not played live for a long time’ songs) and full on energy nothing could stop them…
Bruce and Little Steven
Big man Clerance
The Boss Bruce Springsteen
And another shot of Bruce Springsteen
The setlist was Two Hearts Radio Nowhere Out In The Street The Promised Land Spirit In The Night Blinded By The Light Something In The Night Trapped Gypsy Biker Working On The Highway Hungry Heart Because The Night She’s The One Livin’ In The Future Mary’s Place I’m On Fire Downbound Train For You The Rising Last To Die Long Walk Home Badlands
Extra numbers Jungleland Seven Nights To Rock Born To Run Ramrod Bobby Jean Dancing In The Dark American Land
I can recommend all new bands and quite a lot of old ones to check this big setlist and the 3 hours of music – you could learn a lot here – dont come around with a small 1 hour and 45 minutes concert (tops for many) when this 58 yo still going strong rock’er still gives us 3 hours of full energy…
Tomorrow evening is the rather hyped ‘All 90S – DEN STORE 90ER FEST’ (the big 9o’s party) party in Forum in Copenhagen and of course I’m going… gonna be fun to see those old acts again.. Dr. Alban, the Swedish dentist, are among them and he gotta be around fifty… The bands are: Right Said Fred Dr. Alban Haddaway Robin S Corona Snap!
Pretty impressive that this party is totally sold out…
I love the new Sepiamusic first single ‘Crazy Burn’ and it turns out that Michael and Erin has decided to make it a free download – at least for now… Sepiamusic’s first album ‘Prototype’ was great, but from what secrets I can squeeze out of Michael Miltersen ‘Trenches’ will be even better. Judging by ‘Crazy Burn’ and expecting the rest of the album to be down the same road, I think I’m close to have the same high expectations as Michael… looking very much forward to the coming releash (and releash party) of Trenches. I’m certainly a Crazy Burn fan! 😉
Yes, its great news – Portishead will send out their first album in 11 years this April. Even better is the fact that they will come around Copenhagen for a concert on Friday 4. April. – soooo cool!
I’m sorry (and so was he… big time) that I forget to mention my friend Christian Hartvig as the co-pusher of Bruce Springsteen concert tickets for the summer 2008 concert! Thanx Christian!
