Brunch at Cafe Ae

January 11th, 2009 | Posted by Niels Klintø in Copenhagen | Friends - (0 Comments)

Looking forward to see my friends very soon at Cafe Ae  – and brunch sounds like a very good idea. Cafe Ae better have eggs, good bacon and pancakes – and hopefully not too much fruit…..

Per and I know each other from the University time in Odense (the town of Hans Christian Andersen) – both being cool instructors in IT applications and database design and programming (in the good old Borland Paradox days). So Odense was an easy choice for brunch now that Per was in Denmark with his family and it should of course be at Franck A (beware, Flash site….) – a Odense classic, but redesigned big time. It didnt have the look we liked when studying in Odense, but it was certainly looking great now!
And the food was delicius – do go there!

Franck A in Odense

I raced with the train from Copenhagen and Per got one of the family cars and we sort of meet half way (in Odense), but Per included a bonus for me!!! It turned out that Klix was also bringing his wife Inger and my friend Gus (Erik Gustav) – such a good idea!

I was bringing in presents for Gus from me and Irina – a presesent for Christmas and one for Gus’ 2 years birthday in February. Of course we “made” Gus open the presents on the spot.

Gus opening the first present – a bowling alley!

A personal Bowling alley for Gus and a small train – all of it in soft material from Rubbabu. Do I need to tell that I did find them at Klodsmajor?  😉

We spend a couple of good hours at Franck A and it was good to see the Chicago family again. A lot has happened since last time.
Per is now a director at Chicago Apartment Finders, their sandwich shop is going fine, Inger is working hard at Ogilvy, Gus is getting bigger and walks around and I heard rumours about Inger designing some cool covers from prams…..

And then it was time for a small walk in Odense. Gus is getting ready…

Goodbye to Franck A – the Klixbüll family

Per and I checked out a couple of the old places…
We went to the party area Arkaden. Not much has really changed here.

After some good hours in Odense it was time for all of us to head for Jutland – The Klixbüll family to Vejle and me to my brothers place in Holsted (rather close to Esbjerg in the West Coast). I got a ride to Fredericia – Gus was waching movies and taking a small nap…

And Gus napping…

Thanx to all of you – it was soooo good to see you again!

Domino Tournament in Vilnius.

December 17th, 2008 | Posted by Niels Klintø in Friends | Travel - (0 Comments)

I know this is rather scary, but yes! I did join a Domino Tournament on my last trip to Vilnius and in fact I got all the way to the semifinal on my first time playing Domino ever – and I learned how to play just before the tournament started – and NO, I don’t think I got any special Domino talents…  😉

It all started with my friend Domas asking me on Wednesday last week if I wanted to go play at a local Domino Tournament with him..  can you imagine me laughing and checking what they added to his beer?

The whole downstairs of the Domino Bar (yes, they even named the place after Domino) was full with nice people on this Thursday. Here’s a couple playing

Also Domas’ brother Tadas did play in the Domino Tournament – unfortunately he went out rather early – he needs to practice his Domino skills…  😉

Domas showed me how to play Domino on the spot and he did fine, but I guess he left a little out…  he made it to the final whereas I went out in the semifinals….

Anyway great fun playing Domino – I’m pretty sure I’ll be there again next time I’m in Vilnius…  but dont expect me to be practicing hard beforehand…  😉

Dan’s birthday II

August 25th, 2008 | Posted by Niels Klintø in Friends - (1 Comments)

It wasnt only Dan’s kids who were ready with a small ‘event’ – check out this music-event…

The whole Taxbøl family is ready to show their music talents
A cool music show with the Taxbøl family

And I’m pretty much ready for the show…  yes, you might not be able to see it, but I do have a beer in one of my hands – you can say a lot about Dan, but he really tried to buy enought beer for this party… even though 50 liters wasnt enough..  anyway I was sort of smiling, so there were still beer at this time..  😉

And after such a dancing and singing show its time for a drink – or a bottle…Simone shows how to drink Champaign in Haslev...

And in the late evening it was time to check out the local ‘club’ – Diskotek B&W Bykroen…

I really like name ‘Bykroen’ ( the village inn) – it was very fitting for the place – great service, but I guess it comes with being close to the only people there..  on a Saturday at 01.00….
Btw my hodded shirty was too offensive, but I was nicely asked to leave it in the cloakroom…  cool…

Dan Taxbøls birthday party

August 21st, 2008 | Posted by Niels Klintø in Friends - (0 Comments)

First of all happy birthday (a bit delayed) and thanx for a great birthday party down in Haslev (I wont explain further, because who really wants to know…) – that was a hell of party even though you managed again to buy too little beer for your beer tap….

The day started really good with nice weather and a beer in the sun
A beer in the sun for Dan Taxbøl before all the guests arrive

Nice presents for Mr. Taxbøl – sadly he doesnt get 40 evey year…  😉
Dan Taxbøl gets a mousepad with blond girl and tits - pure silicon
Oh yes, a mouse pad with a blond with silicon tits – look at that happy boy!
And I know that Dan is smiling when he use it…  😉

A birthday party is not really a birthday party without a couple of songs, speaches and other fun stuff – and who’s better to start the ‘fun’ than Dan’s kids Simone, Rasmus and Nikolaj?
The ‘kids’ really did a cool ‘speach’/event with lots of fun – and interesting stuff I didnt know about Mr. Taxbøl…

The fun started withNikolaj and Rasmus dressing Dan with this cool water-hat…  and it seems like the kids really know what’s most important to ‘punish’.. when Dan in talking/interrupting!!
Dan Taxbøl gets a water-hat
So one word from Dan T. and he gets a bit of water!
Btw do I need to add that Nikolaj had to top up the water several times??!!  😉

We learned a lot about Dan Taxbøl that we really had hoped not not hear about…  Thanx to you kids I still have nightmares…
Dans underwear - ouch

And not even Dan likes that….
Dan gets some serious water
And then combines with quite a lot of water….

I think I will stop for now and just say another big THANX – it was was really good fun!
And I do think that you havent changed that much since….
